We are currently looking for a Rigging Artist to join our quest.
Job Summary:
The Rigging Artist is responsible for designing and maintaining a smooth and efficient rig for CG assets. He or she must have a strong understanding of CG pipelines and production methods and a strong management style with excellent organizational and artistic skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Rigging Lead/Supervisor to establish a rig that fully supports an animation style
- Work closely with Animators to develop rigs that will allow animators the full range of motion and acting that is called for by the story, as well as, a logical and easy to use control structure
- Work to create top quality body and facial rigs that meet the desired quality and style
- Create and adjust rigging standards
- Provide creative ideas and solutions on both visual and technical level
- Be able to flag and solve potential problems to stay on schedule
- Organize work and prepare presentation elements for approval
- Execute the corrections requested by the Supervisor and the Director by showing an analytic mind
- Communicate and seek information if necessary
- Constantly be learning and experimenting with new techniques
- Be a key contributor to create an engaging animated film of top quality, while managing and reducing the complexities of production
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of industry (CG and/or VFX) or equivalent rigging experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Computer Animation, or other relevant areas of study and/or equivalent job experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of CG, pipeline and associated software/plugins
- Experience in a variety of Maya rigging techniques, and the ability to optimize the performance of rigs
- Good communication skills and excellent team player
- A creative problem-solver
- Basic modeling skills and ability to understand polygonal mesh flow
- Strong knowledge of character kinematics, deformation and biomechanics
- Experience rigging a variety of characters and props, including facial animation systems
- Experience with Python and MEL is a plus
- Knowledge of dynamics is a plus

- This position will require the successful applicant to relocate and work on-site at our studio in Malaysia.
