We are currently looking for a Senior FX Artist to join our quest.
Job Summary:
Senior FX Artist is responsible for the design and delivery of high quality Visual Effects content and to ensure they are in line with the artistic vision. You will work closely with the Art Director and other Lead Artists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, create and implement high quality photo real effects and stylize effects
- Using a variety of commercial and proprietary FX tools including Maya and Houdini
- Design, create and implement efficient methods, tools, and workflows
- Understand and work within the studio, show structure and pipeline
- Work with TDs and Pipeline to improve FX process
- Integrate created elements into scenes with lighting and shading
- Report regularly to the FX Supervisor for creative approvals, technical or administrative concerns
- Stay current with latest technologies, methods and workflows
- Producing reviewable composites of all FX elements for a shot
- Helping to design solutions involving a more procedural approach in order to create the effects required
- Supervise the quality control (both technically and visually) of the external assignments and ensure the outsource partner has clear direction from a FX and shading perspective
- Mentor artist
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in graphic design, animation, multimedia design, fine art, film studies or CGI and 3D
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience working as VFX artist
- Must have an excellent working knowledge of FX in Maya and/or Houdini
- Very good technical skills and understanding of the content creation pipeline
- Strong understanding of animation theories and techniques
- Must have a good “eye” and a thorough understanding of light, colour, contrast, shading and FX design
- Task Driven, self-motivated and proactive
- Must demonstrate attention to detail in finishing of FX in shots
- Ability to train Junior Artist on the project
- Knowledge of coding/scripting in current production languages : Python, VEX, Hscript, C++, and Mel
- Adaptable to change of direction during production and in tight deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple tasks in a fast paced production
Remark:
This position will require the successful applicant to relocate and work on-site at our studio in Malaysia.
